Los Angeles - Pieces of Ashlee Simpson are going to be all over the mall this spring.
To coincide with the April release of her third studio album, Bittersweet World, the 22-year-old pop star is taking a cue from her shoe-fashioning sis and designing a line of tops for retailer Wet Seal, the teen-favorite clothier announced Thursday. The collection, "inspired by Ashlee Simpson's personality, sense of style and album artwork," will launch in Wet Seal stores nationwide on April 22, according to the chain, which will also be rolling out the in-store and online promotional guns to tout both the album and the new shirts. "I was inspired by so many fun, wonderful things as I was recording Bittersweet World, and it's been great to carry through those inspirations into these new shirt designs," said Simpson. "I hope my fans love this album and rock out in these shirts!"
And just as you can pick up a Paul McCartney CD to go with your Starbucks latte, you'll be able to snag a Simpson disc along with a graphic tee and some skinny jeans.
"Ashlee is a role model for our girl, and her fun and flirty sense of style is an inspiration for the line," Wet Seal CEO Ed Thomas said. "The goal was to partner with an icon and deliver affordable fashion, and Ashlee is an ideal partner for this."
"Little Miss Obsessive," the first single off of Bittersweet World, was released digitally on March 11 and hit the airwaves a week later.
The pop ballad centers around a love gone bad. "I wish that I never loved you," she sings. "I should have never let you have my heart/You made me not want to feel again/Made me scared to open up/Now I'm better off/No more bad days/Don't need you to validate me."
It is Montag's second single following "Higher," which received negative responses from fans. Fans didn’t like the video on the song either.
Mariah Carey loves being called a diva.
The 'Hero' singer - who is renowned for her outrageous demands - says it's a compliment to have that reputation because it means she's successful. She said: "They throw that word around like it's a friggin' Frisbee!
"I grew up hearing it, because my mother is an opera singer. The actual definition is 'a talented female singer.' Definition two is 'a difficult woman who is successful,' I believe. So I take it as a compliment."
Despite her reputation, Mariah insists she doesn't make enough demands.
The 38-year-old star told Parade magazine: "You know what? I guess I am a diva in many ways! When it comes to certain things, yes, I can be difficult and a little bit rigid about what I want. Am I demanding? I don't think I'm demanding enough. I think if I were more demanding, I would have felt that I had some sort of power, as opposed to feeling like a pawn, which is something I had to grow out of."
Madonna still enjoys a steamy sex life with husband Guy Ritchie, according to the source.
The '4
Minutes' singer, 49, says despite being married for over seven years, she and husband
Guy Ritchie still make time to be alone together.
The
mother-of-three told Britain's
OK! magazine: "I don't know who told you that having children and getting
married means there is no erotica in your life."
Earlier this
month, Madonna vehemently denied reports her marriage to Guy is on the rocks.
Liz
Rosenberg, Madonna's US
spokeswoman, said: "I am delighted to confirm that Mr. and Mrs. Guy
Ritchie remain happily married.
"Though
they were in different countries recently - Madonna in the US promoting her
upcoming album 'Hard Candy' and Guy finishing up post-production on his new
film 'RocknRolla' as well as completing a Nike commercial and working on
several scripts in England - the family are joyfully back together at home in
London. All is well and wonderful in the Ritchie household."
The Sun is reporting that Amy Winehouse is going back to rehab.
She is set to return to treatment and get help abroad.
A source tells the paper: "Amy has admitted she needs to check into rehab again. There are too many temptations for her in the UK — people around her in London are making it impossible for her to stay clean for any length of time. Her management had considered flying her to a clinic in Israel. They are also assessing a clinic in Cape Town in South Africa, according to the source.
Carmen Electra is ready to settle down and start a family.
The former 'Baywatch' star has confessed she is madly in love with her Korn guitarist boyfriend Rob Patterson, who she only began dating last month, and is desperate to have his child.
Carmen, 35, said: "I have pictured myself as a mother for many years and I can't wait to fulfil that wish. I am really happy at the moment."
The 35-year-old actress - who was previously married to rocker Dave Navarro and basketball player Dennis Rodman - is so infatuated with Rob the pair have ditched their partying lifestyles and now prefer staying in together.
Rob revealed: "We never go out. We love just being together at home." Carmen is said to be so serious about the 37-year-old musician she is planning to move in with him.
Last week, she displayed her commitment to Rob with a new tattoo. The actress' representative confirmed Carmen has had an 'R' inked behind her left ear as a tribute to her lover.
