There was time when Britney Spears covered popular songs like Rolling Stones’ ‘Satisfaction’ or Joan Jett’s ‘I love Rock & Roll.’ And now it’s her time to shine! Instead of checking out charts’ lists to find out what’s really popular these days you’d better check out what songs are covered by other artists.
‘Womanizer’ is one of the It-songs now. Everyone covers Britney. Everyone covers ‘Womanizer.’
Topshop have denied that Christina Aguilera will design a fashion line for them. As we wrote earlier there was a rumor about her collaboration with the British boutique Topshop.
Topshop’s spokesperson Andrew Leahy said that it was nothing more than speculation.
Topshop are not in discussion with any celebrity or artist to create new ranges for us.”
Topshop have confirmed to Elleuk.com that it’s not going to be, and they are focusing on a range from Biba veteran Barbara Hulanicki.
It’s very interesting, who told the press that Christina Aguilera is to design for Topshop?
It’s a good PR campaign for her, isn’t it?
Kanye West has never been one for being modest. Now the hip-hop star says he wants to "have less fans" and eventually pose naked.
I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans," West tells Vibe magazine in its February issue. "I want the freedom of having less fans. It's like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility."
West, 31, later clarified that by "less fans" he meant having a core devotees of 20,000 who understand him, rather than a massive group of 100,000 followers who like him because he's the popular singer of the moment.
The outspoken Grammy award winning rapper's desires may disappoint some fans but he says he strives for a low-key career like singer Björk.
It's like Björk. If she wanted to pose naked, you'd be like: 'Oh, that's Björk,'" West said. "But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it."
Will a striptease be happening any time soon?
"I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I'll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture."
Britney Spears is wearing a 'magic’ ring to give her confidence.
The 'Womanizer’ singer has been spotted wearing a tourmaline band, which claims to boost inner strength and provide a sense of stability.
The rock was given to her by the celebrity designer Dara Dubinet to help her get back on track following her public breakdown last January.
Dara told Life and Style Weekly magazine: 'I made the ring with Britney in mind. When something is made with good intention, it carries that positive energy to the person who ends up wearing it.'
It was recently claimed Britney has lost confidence in her dancing ability and has been missing rehearsals for her new world tour because she is too embarrassed.
The 27-year-old star – who is preparing for her first arena tour in five years – is said to be reluctant to dance in front of choreographer Wade Robson, who she has worked with since 1999.
A source said: "She didn't want him to see that she's not as good as she used to be."
Britney kicks off her tour in New Orleans on March 3.
Super hottie Justin Timberlake will be showing off his William Rast clothing line at New York Fashion Week next month.
The line is the one he co-designs with best friend Trace Ayala. The Rast show will be held on Feb. 16 but though we still keep fingers crossed, the reports claim there will be no JT’s performance.
It’s not the first fashion show for the line. It was first presented in September during NY Fashion Week.
According to WWD. Com, JT won’t be the only designer to present men’s collection at the NYFW. Such noted designers as Calvin Klein, Richard Chai, Gilded Age, Antonio Azzuolo and Jurgen Oeltjenbruns will dedicate their catwalk shows solely to men’s fashion.
Lady GaGa ascends 2-1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with "Just Dance," which sold 279,000 downloads in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. At 22 weeks, the song makes the longest trip to the top since Creed's "With Arms Wide Open" (27 weeks) in November 2000.
For the first time since Jan. 17, 1998, the Hot 100 does not have a
debut; the only additions to the list this week are re-entries.
Last week's No. 1, Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),"
drops to No. 2, while T.I.'s "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna
holds at No. 3.
Kanye West's "Heartless" drops 4-5, Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" remains No. 6 and Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" rises 12-7. Britney Spears' "Womanizer" is down 7-8, Kevin Rufolf's "Let It Rock" featuring Lil Wayne climbs 12-9 and another West song, "Love Lockdown," slides 6-10.
On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, "Single Ladies" is No. 1 for an eighth week, while Sugarland assumes control on Hot Country Songs with "Already Gone," which flip-flops 2-1 with Rascal Flatts' "Here."
There's no change on Billboard's rock charts, with Kings Of Leon's "Sex on Fire" starting a fifth week atop Modern Rock and Shinedown leading Mainstream Rock for a fourth with "Second Chance."

Contrary to previous reports Led Zeppelin manager, Peter Mensch, has now stated that the remaining members of Led Zeppelin will NOT record or tour.
Speaking to website MusicRadar.com yesterday, Jimmy Page’s manager Peter Mensch said,
They tried out a few singers, but no one worked out. That was it. The whole thing is completely over now. There are absolutely no plans for them to continue. Zero. Frankly, I wish everybody would stop talking about it."
Led Zeppelin are over! If you didn't see them in 2007, you missed them. It's done. I can't be any clearer than that."
So ... who knows what to beleive, but check back and we'll keep you up-to-date with the latest.
Pink has nightmares about working at McDonalds.
The 'Sober' singer is still haunted by memories about her younger days, when she worked at the fast food chain in her hometown of Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Pink - who at 16 signed to a top record label as a member of girl group Choice - said:
"Sometimes I dream I am back there, broke and working at McDonalds.
"It's like the worst nightmare because I would never want to be back there.
I've worked hard to get where I am."
Pink - real name Alicia Moore - went on to release her debut album 'Can't Take Me Home' aged 21, which sold over two million records and made her a global star.
However, her success has been tinged with bitter-sweet consequences.
Pink's recent single 'So What' became a number one in both the US and the UK, but was inspired by the breakdown of her marriage to motorbike rider Carey Hart.
Pink said:
"It's amazing to be number one. But it's ironic that it took breaking-up to get there. It's a testament to how often people break-up, because everyone can relate to what I'm saying."
Pink and Carey recently announced they will divorce in February.

There's still no solidified release dates for upcoming Interscope albums from Eminem and 50 Cent, but new music from both acts has emerged in the past 24 hours.
Eminem's "Crack a Bottle," which features 50 as well as Dr. Dre, leaked online today (Jan. 6); an earlier version without the guest appearances had leaked in November, much to the dismay of Eminem.
"It wasn't close to finished, and it even has me doing guide vocals for Dre as a suggestion of how he could lay his verses down," he told Billboard in an exclusive interview. Eminem's new album, "Relapse," is expected this spring.
Meanwhile, a new 50 Cent song, "I Get It In," debuted last night on New York radio station Hot 97. Its parent album, "Before I Self Destruct," was originally due Dec. 9 but was delayed while the rapper continued recording. An Interscope spokesperson was unable to confirm a rumored Feb. 3 release date.
An earlier single "Get Up," peaked last year at No. 23 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Mariah Carey is Mariah Carey’s biggest fan. She’s presently in talks to make a Broadway show based on her life. The musical is to be made in 2009, the singer’s spokesperson said.
The show will follow Mariah’s career from her discovery at the age of 20, to her marriage and divorce from producer Tommy Mottola and to her emotional and physical breakdown in early 2000s.
It must be very difficult for Mrs. Nick Cannon to find someone to portray herself. We all know how demanding she is and how much she loves herself. But the source reveals she eyes British rising star Leona Lewis for the role.
Mariah’s not sure if she’ll star in it herself. Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she exotic, she’s the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah’s eight-octave vocal range.”
Any other stars to line up for audition? I don’t know about the whole list but High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens and Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria are surely there on the list.
(I didn’t know Eva Longoria could sing)
Who would you like to see portraying Mariah Carey in the Broadway show?
